This story is freaky and hilarious all at the same time! We once had a bat in our summer rental in Provence. We were outside and watched it fly into the kitchen, swoop around several times before (mercifully) it flew out. But there was no way I would EVER have gone near it with a pillowcase!

All the while trying not to bark my shin on the coffee table or fall over a chair whilst fleeing for my life.

My sister used to kill spiders for me. I’d scream from my bedroom and she’d come running with just a tissue! I’m 4 years older than her! One day, I was on the phone and I made some catty remark like, “Oh I just made Linda come in and kill a spider for me.” Well this deeply offended my Spider Slayer and she tossed the tissue with the smashed & very dead giant spider ON ME and I fell backward off the bed. Oh how she laughed.

Did you see their mile-high lemon meringue pie? The meringue is RIDICULOUS – even sweet-toothed Gui couldn’t finish it. It’s a yum place, and I totally agree with you about the vibe. Very thrown-together, hippy-style. Love.
