Hey Church. link away! and thanks for your visit. my project has been put on hold for a while, and i'm afraid i'm once again having "bad luck". the cover up was poorly planned and my guy, while wicked with black, is not coming through on colors. have found a potential replacement, but am left weary of the whole affair. have breezed by your site and will check back now and again. cheers :)

Hi! I'm trying to find out about a snippet of family history -- my mother remembers a relative, Caleb Beaumont, who was involved in building the Eiffel Tower. Now, she thinks that his name is on the plaque at the bottom of the tower, but I havn't found a photo (yet) that shows it. Have you ever seen or heard of this name?

Thanks for any info you can find!

Hey - the first thing to keep in mind is that this was a long time ago. like 1992. a lot of things have changed since then in the tat world - inks have improved, equipment in general has improved, and standards have surely risen. ultimately what happened is i went camping and caught what i imagine was a staff infection. but you know what they were telling me to put on my tat back in those days?? Noxima! no kidding.

Important things :
1) trust your tattoo artist. spend time with them talking about what you want and how they work before committing yourself. make sure they're the right person for you.
2) take good care of your tat afterward. use a good anti-sceptic, and something nice and greasy to keep it moist and protected against infection. Neosporin comes to mind, but then i haven't been in the US in ages and don't know what products you all have anymore. here, i use something called Homeoplasmine. keep it out of the sun and don't do any swimming or soaking in baths for the first 3 weeks after it's fresh.
3) make sure the needle is NEW. if you don't see the needle come out of the plastic wrap - walk out. cheers and happy tattooing !

after reading this i have a few questions, but you'll have to excuse my typing since i dont do so well with proper words and sentences making myself seem "well-educated". so im gonna just type freely. that is of course if you dont mind me asking.
who was the artist from hawaii?
what did u mean by "heavy hand"?
and finally,
what caused the large pimple-like bumps on your tat?

i'd appreciate any answer you can give me. im trying to decide between 2 known artists here in vegas, specializing in polynesian designs(mainly samoan) and japanese mirals.
reading your article makes me a bit nervous. not because of the pain. anyone getting one done will be expecting it, but rather the unexpected. such as unnecessary added pain caused by the "heavy hand", and of course the mysterious large pimple.

oh and thank you for this article.
