10 days of trail blazing and I’m back safe and sound, getting my land legs working and digesting all that I saw and did. It wasn’t quite the trip I had originally planned going all the way to Mexico, but that was probably overzealous and unnecessary anyway, and I still managed to cover 12 states. 12 states! I had fun snapping shots out of the window while trying to remain in my lane, but eventually ran out of space on my memory card so that the way back isn’t hardly covered and I couldn’t get shots of all the state “welcome” signs – though I’m sure my dear readers will forgive me. Won’t you? It would have been nice to have the whole collection, but some were impossibly dangerous, like Oregon’s which was not conveniently put on the side of the road, but in the center divider. Not very thoughtful if you ask me.
My poor left arm got fried, but the weather and traffic were generally good and the Blazer was a champ. It’s gonna take me a little time to sort through the pics and the stories, and because I know that the longer I wait the less fresh the memories are, so it won’t be long. So, yes, you can think of this as just filler, but I prefer to think of it as primer.
