The other day I discovered a blog turned photoblog called Momster, kept by an extraordinary woman named Irene Nam. In it she keeps a page called “30 things”, a list of 30 things she wants to accomplish in her 30th year. I hope she doesn’t mind be borrowing on her idea as I try to come up with my own list of 35 things I’d like to do in my 35th year:
- Forgive myself
- Complete at least one book project
- Buy a house
- Visit my home town
- See an old friend
- Write a new song
- Travel to a new place
- Forgive someone else
- Lose 5 pounds and keep them off
- Learn to knit
- Make a new friend
- Improve my Spanish
- Make 5 new clients
- Start a new business
- Be generous with someone who isn’t expecting it
- Join a choir
- Volunteer some of my time
- Learn to meditate
- Finish two projects that I have long been procrastinating on
- Read The People’s History of the United States by Howard Zinn
- Register to vote
- Go to the gym regularly
- Discover Paris and learn to know it well
- Find a hangout/second living room (café)
- See more sunrises
- Sleep less
- Discover a new author
- See more concerts, go to the theatre, and why not to the opera
- Learn one new recipe each month
- See my cousins as often as possible
- Learn to be more patient
- Read more
- Write more
- Love more
- Lâcher prise
