I’VE BEEN SPAMMED
And I’m really pissed about it. We’re all used to unsolicited emails cluttering up our email accounts: viruses, commercial offers, scams, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. But I was unaware that my own BLOG could be a victim of spam. Jeez. All of a sudden I notice over 500 comments on a blog note and know immediately that something’s wrong. All the comments say something like “cool site, thanks,” give a phony hotmail email address, and then some link, which of course I am NOT clicking on. Subjects are as banal as “electric dirt bike”, and as offensive as “kiss my ass” (actually worse, but I don’t feel like reprinting it). Some of the comments contain as many as 10-15 web links for various random products.
I intend to get to the bottom of this, but in the meantime I feel that I deserve to bitch about it publicly. Whereas I have to go through and delete each one of these comments, one at a time, by hand, I’m sure whoever is responsible for this has some nifty program that allows them to send out the WHAMMY to randomly targeted sites at the push of a button. Bastards.
